Antigua is the largest of the Leeward Islands, and has a sister Island which is a "stone throw" north of the Island.  The twin Islands offer a major vacation spot for tourism, which is the Islands main economic activity.  Antigua has three hundred and sixty-five (365) beaches, bays and islets, some quite secluded. Water sports, cricket and tennis are the main sporting activities.  The last week of April is their "sailing week" which is world famous.  Carnival is celebrated at the end of July.

St. John's offers a natural deepwater harbour, which now accommodates large cruise liners.  St. John's Cathedral is one of the most impressive structures on the twin Island.  Nelson's Dockyard on the south coast is the most famous landmark, and was once used as a British Naval Base.

Barbuda is synonymous with tranquility, and is famous for its long pink sand beaches, and clear blue waters.  Lobsters are plentiful and reasonably priced. A visit to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary is a must for the visitor.

The Antigua and Barbuda Cooperative Credit Union League Limited is a foundation member of CCCU.  The League hosted CCCU's Convention in 1984.  The League's President is Mr. Ellis Southwell.
