|Credit Union Opens New Headquarters|

On September 20 the Cayman Islands Civil Service Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., officially opened its new headquarters, located at 58 Huldah Avenue, in the capital city of Georgetown.
The Credit Union which opened its doors in March of 1975 with seven (7) members and CI$35 in savings, now boasts a membership of 13,700 with assets of CI$197 million. Five (5) of the seven (7) founding members, were in attendance. One other founding member is deceased while the other resides in the United States of America.
The Credit Union’s Chairman Deanna Look Loy, in her welcome address catalogued the progress of the Credit Union from its inception, and stressed its commitment to maintaining its relevance to present and potential members.
The event coincided with the third quarterly meeting of the Board of the CCCU, which was held in Grand Cayman, September 20 – 22. CCCU’s President Ridguard Harris who delivered the feature address at the Opening Ceremony, congratulated the Credit Union on its achievements as well as its support for the development of the Regional Credit Union Movement.
While in Grand Cayman, the Board paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor Franz Manderson and also met over dinner with the Board of the Credit Union.
The Credit Union’s CEO Corinne Glasgow, served as a member of the CCCU Board from 1995 – 1998, and is the only Caymanian to date to have done so.
