The International Summit of Cooperatives will be back in 2014……….. By popular demand and thanks to the success of the first edition in 2012, the second International Summit of Cooperatives will be held from October 6 to 9, 2014, in Quebec City, Canada.
The Desjardins Group and the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) will co-host the event. The Summit is the forum of choice where leaders of the co-operative and mutual sectors and large organizations, can discuss their concerns about the current and future challenges they all share and play an active role in promoting the Co-operative Movement around the world. It is also the natural next step in advancing and supporting the strategic priorities and conclusions of the 2012 International Year of Cooperatives.
With the Summit's importance, strong participation and reputation, this event can be considered as playing an influential role on the economic, political and regulatory world stages.
About the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives
The first edition of this high profile event brought 2,800 participants from 91 countries together in Quebec City in the fall of 2012. The Summit owed its success to several key factors, most notably an impressive lineup of 156 speakers, the release of 9 previously unpublished studies and 25 side events.
