Since the mid 1980’s, Credit Union members in Barbados have benefited from income tax concessions for savings made in Credit Unions. This contributed to significant growth in the sector and the accumulation of savings as members were afforded the opportunity to benefit from longer term savings and investments plans.

Dominica which is regarded as having the highest penetration rate in the world in relation to number of credit union members to total population, has achieved a significant milestone in its credit union development through a major consolidation of five (5) credit unions.

MADISON, Wis – The Credit Union Executives Society has named Ertis Blake, President, Communications and other Workers of Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union Limited (C&WJCCU), as the 2010 CUES Director of the Year. He will be honoured during an awards celebration at CUES’ Directors Conference, December 5-8 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Phoenix.
